The Beercan Virgin (Our Lady of Schlitz?) is cool, but it’s actually in front of Dow School/MECA, 1900 Kane. St. Joseph’s church is a wonderful place to stick your head in, too, if you’re in the Sixth Ward. (2005-12-13 22:02:27) |

It’s great folk art. Our Lady of Guadalupe made up of beer and soft drink cans, complete with Juan Diego at her feet. Root beer cans were used for her skin. Coors beer cans (if I remember correctly) for her halo, and sprite cans for her blue robes. It’s in the schoolyard of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. (2005-02-18 08:50:58) |
