I GREW UP PRICING FRAMES AND PLAYING IN THE BACK OFFICE OF SMITH OPTICIANS ALL FOR THE CHANGE IN THE COKE MACHINE. THIS WAS MY FATHER’S STORE. SO MANY WEEKEND AND SUMMER DAYS MY TWIN SISTER AND I WENT TO WORK WITH MY DAD. IT WAS A REAL SURPRISE TO GOOGLE ITS NAME AND SEE IT STILL GOING STRONG. MY FATHER MUST BE SMILING DOWN FROM ABOVE. WAY COOL! (2008-06-05 00:24:16) |

I started going to Smith Opticians in 1970. From that time on I have always purchased my frames from there. Now another generation in my life is coming to Smith’s, my daughter. We both love the variety and we both know we won’t be meeting ourselves elsewhere. Phillip is great also. (2007-08-16 16:05:41) |

I have been a customer at Smith’s Opticians since I was a teenager. My first frames were purchased there in 1972. Of course, Dr. Smith was running the location at that time and for years after. I will always buy my frames from Smith’s Opticians. Phillip is a great person and he has a great selection. Just the same as Dr. Smith did. If you don’t want to see yourself coming at you then go to Smith’s Opticians. Frames that are one of a kind and very reasonable. I just love my frames because I know that I will be able to find something different, stylish and great looking on me. (2007-08-03 16:36:53) |

I have several frames from Smith’s and strangers often stop and ask me where I found such neat frames. You can definitely find something flattering and stylish between 20-150for frames. I have a pretty obscure prescription, but Phillip fills it for much less than my eye doctor and no one can beat the great deals on frames. The shop has glasses from every era and even outfits the Alley theatre. Phillip knows and loves his glasses and its almost as if he’s looking to place each unique frame in a good home. Browsing the shop is like digging for optical treasure. You might narrow it down to four frames and then you still have to pick your free eyeglass case which is almost as much fun as choosing the frame. I can’t wait to pick up another pair! I used to live on the other side of the over pass from that place! Now I regret never going in, seeing as I could look at it from my bedroom window! (2006-08-03 22:52:52) |

Awesome selection and amazing prices. I narrowed it down to 4 frames and so did my sister in law. Give yourself a couple of hours to look. Phillip may not be organized but he is a teddy bear and it lends for a fun experience. (2006-04-24 14:12:29) |

I was like a kid in a candy store, especially enjoying the vintage frames, but landing on a very fashionable Italian frame that he sold me for one third of what I would have paid at the optical I had been going to. (2006-04-06 11:41:54) |

tucked away on wheeler under the bridge near Sears. He has got a HUGE variety of new frames and also vintage from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. (I guess the 90s were no good for glasses!) The actual address is 4313 Austin at Wheeler. He has normal ones also, if that is your fun. (2005-07-01 11:43:54) |
