Opera in the Heights is a non-profit, professional, regional opera company serving the Greater Houston area with quality opera and concert performances in an intimate setting, at an affordable price. It is now in its tenth season. Each season, the company presents four fully staged and costumed productions of traditional operas, performed in the original language with English surtitles and accompanied by orchestra.

Opera in the Heights performs in a great venue. Lambert Hall is an old church converted to performance hall. Great sound and great productions. Also performing at this same venue is Upstage Theater. Separate from the Opera, UpStage Theatre is a non-profit organization and group of talented volunteers dedicated to providing the highest quality, yet affordable and family friendly theatrical experience for both the young and the young at heart. OH most definitely helps make our hot town a very cool city. One gets to see young cast members who are establishing themselves on the national scene, perform in an intimate setting.
