The concept for Spacetaker is simple: Gather and present all possible cultural arts information in Houston to provide greater awareness and access to cultural arts organizations, artists and events. Unlike other community access websites, Spacetaker is completely and exclusively dedicated to the arts. Our content is comprehensive, up to date and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to anyone with an Internet connection.

Tonight at the New World Museum, another cool Houston place, Houston artist Susie Rosmarin described SPACETAKER as “the Craig’s List for social events” in Houston. So true. There’s an arts and/or cultural event taking place EVERY DAY IN HOUSTON, and not only does SPACETAKER list these events, but also they feature written profiles of and interviews with local artists; they host an online artist registry; and they throw terrific parties.
